When thinking of Argentina, Buenos Aires and Tango come immediately to your mind. This is why it may be surprising that the most popular city for an internship/ a voluntary service is Córdoba: Argentina’s second largest city offers a lot of cultural activities, entertainment, a great surrounding area and above all it is less anonymous than Buenos Aires. Being the most important university town in the country, the city is very young and it is much easier to get in contact with locals.
Of course, we also arrange compulsory internships and internship semesters. Experience has shown that there are some particularities in comparison to voluntary internships:

  • Since every university has specific conditions that need to be fulfilled for the acceptance of an internship, you have the possibility to indicate them in the online registration. We will consider these criteria for the search, in order to only offer you internships that meet the guidelines.
  • Having received an internship offer that suits you, you can present it to your university before formally accepting it.
  • In case of a compulsory internship, it is often necessary that the university concludes frame contracts and instruction agreements with the internship company. You can hand in these documents to NICE and we will make sure the company signs them and that you receive everything on time.
Our service is also open to high school graduates looking for occupational orientation. If you want to do a pre-study internship, you simply tell us all requirements that need to be met. We will take them into account in the organization of your internship and assist you when issuing all the necessary documents for the subsequent placement recognition.
Just like you are now, we once were students and we know this phenomenon! This is why we are keen to offer our high-quality services at affordable prices.
To achieve this, we use amongst others only a minimal percentage of our revenues on marketing.
Even when planning your stay we support you to find economical solutions to make your dream come true. This includes, for example, choosing your flight connection and the travel insurance. Also, you can apply for funding with our support.
If you want to select cost-consciously the internship/volunteering city, we recommend you to avoid the capital and Patagonia, because living costs there are significantly higher than in the other Argentine regions.
In Argentina, the majority of internships offered to foreigners are unfortunately unpaid. The reason for this is that paid internships are considered to be regular workplaces – and those require a work visa. Applying for such a visa is not only a complicated procedure but also time and money consuming. Hence, most companies are not willing to offer paid internships to foreigners.
For this reason, we recommend you to rather apply for scholarships or to economize: For the application for fundings, of course, we will support you in issuing the necessary documents.
And to save costs we assist you with advice on choosing your flight connection or travel insurance. In addition, you can plan your stay cost-consciously by avoiding the capital and Patagonia as your internship city.
Unfortunately not, even though some people might say so. Only very few people speak and understand English in Argentina. If you have no or only very basic Spanish knowledge, we recommend you to attend a Spanish course on-site. That will enable you soon to communicate easily with locals.
If you plan an internship, having good Spanish skills is a very important prerequisite for a successful work experience.
Since we organize only high-quality internships, we need to guarantee to the companies that the interns dispose of the required Spanish level. Accordingly, we will take care that the intern will be able to communicate in the company and that he/she will be able to understand his/her superiors and colleagues.
If you like, we are pleased to evaluate your Spanish skills for free. Just ask for our Spanish test.
Sufficient Spanish language skills are THE requirement for a successful internship or volunteering in Argentina. In order to be sufficiently prepared before the beginning of the internship or volunteering, participants with no or only basic Spanish knowledge attend an intensive Spanish course (“Intensive Course Plus”) at the NICE Spanish school in Córdoba. Beginners usually need on average six weeks of this course type to be prepared for an internship and 3-4 weeks to be prepared for a volunteering. Correspondingly, students who already have some knowledge need less time.
Having filled in our Spanish test we are able to give you an estimation of how many weeks of the “Intensive Course Plus” you need in order to attain the required Spanish level.
All of our courses are oriented towards our students’ individual needs. The duration of the course depends on your previous language skills and your personal aim.
If you want the course to prepare you for travelling, you will be able to make yourself understood and communicate basic needs after a 2-week Intensive Course. After a 3- or 4-week Intensive Course, you will enjoy your travel even more because you will be able to chat with locals and get to know “their” South America.
In order to get prepared for an internship or volunteering in Argentina, the language requirements are obviously higher. In this case, our Spanish test will give you an idea of how many weeks will be necessary. On average, beginners achieve the required level for the internship accomplishing a 6 week “Intensive Course Plus”, while the necessary level for a volunteering is reached earlier; also those who already know some Spanish need obviously less time!
We extensively check every student’s level before forming groups. If you want a detailed and professional estimation of your Spanish level, just contact us!
Highly qualified teachers are essential to ensure fast advances in your Spanish course. NICE only cooperates with experienced teachers who have completed a university education and who are specially trained for teaching Spanish to foreigners.
If you choose the “Intensive Course Plus” you will enjoy having two teachers and even many conversations with locals. This way, we make sure that you won’t get too used to one person’s way of speaking.
Most teachers speak and understand English as well.
However, our courses are predominantly taught in Spanish. That way, the new language skills are acquired in the fastest, most durable and successful manner.
The South American Spanish differs slightly from the European Spanish. The courses teach vocabulary both from Spain as well as from South America and the grammatical differences will be indicated and explained. The focus of the course is naturally on the application of the Argentine Spanish. This way we make sure that you will be prepared to communicate with the locals in Argentina.
Group courses of any level start on Monday of each week. If you want to take private tutoring lessons or form a group with some friends you can start any day of the week. Classes will be held from Monday to Friday.
If you want to do a Spanish course, just fill in our online registration and we will get in contact with you, giving you all information you might need and supporting you with the inscription documents and travel preparation.
If you already know some Spanish you can then also fill in our Spanish Test. This way we can give feedback on your Spanish level and adapt the course perfectly to your skills.
No, because we work transparently and without any hidden costs. In the online registration, you can simply indicate which services you want to book and you will receive the corresponding invoices. All prices are published on our website; this is how you can easily add up the costs and calculate the total price of your individual package.
In addition to our services, you should think about the cost of a flight and a foreign health insurance. You’ll find tips on favourable insurances and flights in our travel preparation guide.

Whenever you like! You can move in or out on any day of the week. The period of your stay is not limited to the duration of the language course, the volunteering or the internship.
You can move into your accommodation between 8 am and 11 pm.
All accommodations are self-catering. Certainly, you can use the kitchen for cooking or you can prepare a meal with your flat mates! If both parties agree, you can also individually arrange with your host(s) to participate in their meals, paying an allowance.
If you have booked a reception service, we will pick you up at the airport or the bus station and take you to your accommodation. In this case, you do not need to do anything. If you have not booked a reception service, please contact your host to be sure there will be somebody at home when you are arriving. To do so you will receive all contact details in advance.
To get to your accommodation we recommend to order a taxi or remis in the arrival hall of the airport. The company Tienda León in Buenos Aires is well known for its good and safe bus and taxi service: With the bus you go from the airport to its headquaters and from there you will be taken to your accommodation with one of its company taxis.
